What a hell of a night.
Some celebrations are loud and grand and others invite you in quietly and make you want to stay a little longer.

Cori and Richard’s reception at The Kitchen in Columbus was exactly that.
While I was not there to capture their elopement itself, being invited into the celebration afterward felt incredibly special. There is something beautiful about photographing a reception after the vows have already been spoken. The pressure has melted away and what remains is simple. People settling into conversations, hugs that linger a little longer, stories being shared over dinner, and a couple getting to fully enjoy the people they love.
From the moment guests arrived, the atmosphere felt warm and intentional. The Kitchen created the perfect backdrop for the evening with its intimate yet elevated feel. Soft lighting reflected throughout the space while the energy stayed relaxed and welcoming. It never felt rushed. It felt lived in. Like everyone there knew they were exactly where they were supposed to be.
Cori and Richard moved through the room with such ease. Taking time for conversations, sharing smiles across tables, and creating the kind of evening that felt less like an event and more like an experience. Their family and friends made that atmosphere even more memorable. Everyone was so friendly and genuinely excited to celebrate together.
One of my favorite parts of reception coverage is getting to document the moments people often forget happened. The laughter from across the room. A quick hand squeeze. Someone leaning in to tell a story. Those little pieces become the memories years later.
This evening felt effortless in the best way.
Thank you again to Cori and Richard for allowing me to be part of this chapter and preserve the celebration that followed your vows. It was such a joy getting to work with you both and witness such a welcoming and kind group gathered around you.
Because sometimes the most beautiful celebrations are not the biggest ones.
They are simply filled with the right people.
